The coronavirus has required many construction firms to change the way they operate. AGC is committed to helping the industry keep workers safe and keep construction going. May 20, 2020 Tip of the Week

How to Respond to a Suspected or Confirmed Case of COVID-19

  • Remove the infected, or potentially infected, employee from the workplace or jobsite.
  • Advise the employee to contact a medical care provider about symptoms that they are experiencing and follow any orders given.
  • Investigate suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 to determine work-relatedness and document your investigation.
  • Communicate with both affected and non-affected employees on the status of the suspected or confirmed COVID-19 case.

May 13, 2020 Tip of the Week

If an EPA-approved disinfectant is unavailable, you can use 1/3 cup of bleach added to 1 gallon of water, or 70% alcohol solutions to disinfect. Do not mix bleach or other cleaning and disinfection products together. Find additional information on CDC’s website on Cleaning and Disinfecting Your Facility.

Si no tiene ningún desinfectante aprobado por la EPA, puede usar 1/3 de taza de blanqueador con cloro diluido en 1 galón de agua, o soluciones con un 70 % de alcohol para desinfectar. Bleach solutions should not be used for routine hand hygiene, as they will eventually damage the skin.

Sanitizing your hands is critical in helping stop the spread of COVID-19, but bleach solutions SHOULD NOT be used for routine hand hygiene, as they will eventually damage the skin.

April 22, 2020 Tip of the Week

The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) may be stressful for people. Fear and anxiety about a disease can be overwhelming and cause strong emotions. Encourage your employees to:

  • Avoid too much exposure to news. Hearing about the pandemic repeatedly can be upsetting.
  • Take care of their bodies. Try to eat healthy, well-balanced meals, exercise regularly, get plenty of sleep, and avoid alcohol and drugs.
  • Make time to unwind. Try to do some other activities they enjoy.
  • Connect with others. Talk with people they trust about their concerns and how they are feeling.

El brote de la enfermedad del coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) puede ser estresante para las personas. El miedo y la ansiedad por una nueva enfermedad pueden ser abrumadores y causar fuertes emociones. Estimule a sus empleados a:

  • Evitar la sobreexposición a las noticias. Escuchar sobre la pandemia constantemente puede ser inquietante.
